In the box that pops up, type in the name and size of the font that you want to be your new default and press "OK".Ĭome out of the "Text tool" open something else, then re-open it and your chosen font and size will be the new default. Although I haven't had the problem that you've been having, I could delete that preset.)ĭelete that preset, then click on the little gearwheel icon next to where the preset used to be and select "new tool preset". (When I opened this menu, it did show Myriad Pro as the default preset. See if it shows Myriad Pro as the preset for the type tool. Select the type tool (you don't have to have an image open for this) and click this little down arrow: I run this action on the 1st photo I open in photoshop. Now the text tool works as it should until you close photoshop. Then I delete that layer in the action - choose the text tool again with the font and size I want and type a word on a new text layer, then delete that text layer. I created a workaround which was to create an action that chooses the text tool and types any word (I used the word crap - note the text tool defaults the 1st time it uses it to Myriad Pro 2.88pt irregardless of what font and size you have chosen).

I searched google and it seems to be a known problem for many people with many of the adobe products (eg illustrator etc).
